AUSTIN TEXAS – December 16, 2020, PlusPass™, Inc. announces the ability for cash-based Users to travel all-electronic toll roads while still paying cash for their tolls. PlusPass™ just released a new app update which provides cash Users an option to fund their account with cash or debit through any participating retailer. The User simply downloads the PlusPass™ app from their respective app store, takes a picture of their license plate, and then is provided the option to fund their account by associating a credit card or taking their phone to a participating retailer where they can use cash to fund their account. The User pulls up a barcode within the phone app, the cashier will scan the barcode and the User can add any amount to the account, between $15 and $500. A $2 fee applies to each reload. PlusPass™ allows untagged, infrequent, and now cash-based toll road and Express Lane Users a simple and convenient method to pay tolls using their smartphone. The first of its kind, the PlusPass™ app has been successfully operating since 2013 with expansions into states across the U.S. Most recently, PlusPass™ expanded into North Carolina and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise roads through direct connections to each tolling agency.

Signing up is simple: users take a photo of the vehicle’s license plate, associates payment, or prefunds the account using cash at any participating retailer, then drives the road. For the Toll Road Operator, the PlusPass™ system mitigates the risk of unpaid tolls while avoiding costs associated with print, mail, and postage fees. Funds are available to the Operator through guaranteed tolls, immediately.
